Save the date of Friday, May 4, 2012, for the third annual NCTech4Good Technology Conference. Besides the main conference presentations and workshops, there will be concurrent "Design-Your-Own" sessions the same day at the same facility, The William and Ida Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC. In addition to the traditional reception following the conference, there will be an informal reception the night before. More details will be available here as they become available.

About NCTech4Good

NCTech4Good is the regional network for sharing knowledge about technologies that can advance the mission of nonprofit organizations. This sharing occurs during monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, 6:30-8:30 PM, usually at United Way of the Greater Triangle and the annual conference. Join the group at the Meetup site. Meeting summaries, planning, resources, and discussion forums are on the website NCCommunities.org/NCTech4Good/.

NCTech4Good is supported locally by N.C. Center for Nonprofits, United Way of the Greater Triangle, and Public Information Network, Inc (also known as RTPnet). It is also supported by NTEN and NetSquared. NCTech4Good is a NetSquared Local group and an NTEN 501 Tech Club.

Things you should know

  1. Be sure you park in the right parking lot. The first parking lot (on the right as you come in Friday Center Drive) is reserved staff/student parking -- don't park there. Go a little further, you'll see the Friday Center Center. Take the first right after you pass the building. Parking is on the left.
  2. We'll have stickers you can customize to "advertise" what you'd like to talk about (either knowledge you're willing to share or a question you'd like answered). Take a minute before the conference to think about what you'd like to write on those -- but they are entirely optional.
  3. Meeting rooms can vary in temperature. You might want a sweater.
  4. Be sure to visit the exhibits. The sponsors have been very generous, and they want to show you the services they offer for nonprofits.
  5. If you post about the conference in your blog, send tweets, post photos or video, please use the tag "nct4g" and let info@nctech4good.org know about your online posts if you would like so we can link to them from the conference website.
  6. For the reception, we'll have beer, wine, punch, some cheeses, and fruit with dip. Let's not have any cheese/fruit leftovers. The Friday Center closes at 7pm.
  7. You can continue conversations at a local restaurant. See the conference travel page. There are directions to the Friday Center, information about hotels, and other information for travelers on the conference travel page.
  8. Bring business cards. You're going to meet a lot of interesting people. And you'll want business cards for the book drawing — we will have a few books on display in the exhibit area, and we will have a drawing to give them away.
